Cellar Door, Ridgefield

OK, I just got back from dinner at Cellar Door, a new restaurant in Ridgefield, Connecticut.  Cellar Door just opened today and I am proud to be one of their first customers!

Cellar Door has a nice menu including wood-fired pizza, pastas, and salads. I had the baked macaroni and cheese (with bacon!) appetizer, which was delicious and huge (two kids could definitely eat this for a main course.) I also had the Prospect pizza - a plain tomato-and-cheese pizza. For dessert we tried the zeppoles. These are little donut balls rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served with chocolate sauce for dipping.

The meal was excellent and the staff was very friendly and very nice. My parents and I are so happy that Cellar Door is open and we will definitely be back!

Apple Crisp!

My mom and I just baked an apple crisp. Apple crisp is a dessert ( or a healthy snack ) that contains baked apples topped with granola type of crumb topping. We like Martha Stewart's recipe for apple crisp. If you like apples and granola together, THIS is the recipe for you. From my perspective,I like the apple filling alone. Please stayed tuned!
P.S. Sorry that I didn't blog for a long time!

Welcome to Off the Kids' Menu

Hi. I'm Peter. I'm nine and I like to eat good food. I made this blog because I want to encourage other kids to not eat only nuggets and fries every day. (I do still like nuggets and fries, but not every day!)

Stay tuned and read every entry because I will post restaurant reviews, recipes, and have guest bloggers.

HAPPY EATING!!!
